Sanaullah plays Gandapur’s ‘leaked audio’, orders arrest

Interior minister warns KP govt against allowing armed men to congregate at Islamabad, Rawalpindi border

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah ordered on Saturday the arrest of Ali Amin Gandapur over a purported leaked audio of PTI leader from Dera Ismail Khan in which the conversation is about getting armed men stationed at the outer limits of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

In a press conference earlier today, Sanaullah played the recorded audio conversation and claimed it was a conversation between the PTI leader and a man who whose identity he said was not being revealed at the moment.

In the audio clip, Gandapur is purportedly heard discussing the presence of guns on the border between Islamabad and Rawalpindi and the unidentified man assures him of his preparedness.

Sanaullah claimed that similar conversations were recorded among other smaller criminal groups.

The interior minister also issued a warning to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police chief and the chief secretary, and said that Gandapur and the unidentified individual were in their territoy. “If this crowd gathers in the limits of Islamabad, then the KP government will be directly responsible.”

He issued directives to conduct search and seizure operations for the firearms. “Guns are being collected in Gujarat as well and the Punjab government should order an immediate crackdown,” he added.
