PTI leaders, workers gather at Lahore’s Liberty Chowk
LAHORE: PTI leaders and workers started arriving at Lahore’s Liberty Chowk on Friday to participate in the long march. Sources have said that it would start at 2pm after Friday prayers.
PTI chief Imran Khan had announced that the protest would begin at 11pm.
Amidst this, PTI’s first wicket went down as Punjab MPA Khurram Laghari announced that he was leaving the party.
He along with some other members would hold a press conference with him soon. Laghari is a MPA from Muzaffargarh PP 275. He was the leader of the Opposition group of former CM Usman Buzdar in the past.
“People are coming, as you have seen traffic police have closed some roads. They are regulating toads but the people are facing difficulties,” PTI leader Shafqat Mehmood told Aaj News.
To a query, he said such measures have been taken for safety purposes. A large number of people would be part of it, he added.
