Imran Khan vows to continue to fight for real freedom

Says his march is not to topple govt but to ensure future is not decided by external forces

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan vowed on Thursday that his party would continue to fight for real freedom saying that tomorrow he would make history for a new Pakistan.

“I am beginning my struggle for Haqiqi Azadi [real freedom] from Liberty Chowk tomorrow at 11 pm. The struggle will continue until we achieve our goalsI,” the PTI chief said in a video statement.

Imran Khan said that the purpose of his long march was not to topple the government but to make sure that our future is not decided by external forces.

The PTI Chief said that he wanted to ensure the provision of justice to every citizen of the country, adding that the people of the country “want a free and fair election”.

Earlier on Tuesday, the former premier announced that his party will kick start ‘Haqeeqi Azadi March’ towards Islamabad on Friday.

Imran Khan had assured that his party’s long march would be peacefull and claimed that the long march would be the biggest-ever in the histroy of Pakistan. “The march will pass through the GT Road and the people will join it.”

Imran Khan’s Long March will begin with his speech from Liberty Chowk in Lahore.

“PTI’s long march will not be allowed to enter red zone”

Earlier in the day, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said the government will allow the PTI to hold its gathering in the federal capital if it remains peaceful under the constitution.

“Peaceful protest is their constitutional and legal right,” the interior minister addressing a press conference in Islamabad.

He said the participants of long march will not be allowed to enter the federal capital territory. For this purpose, he said we have the requisite number of rangers, FC, Sindh and Islamabad police.

The Interior Minister said the PTI long march will not be allowed entry into the Red Zone under any circumstances. He said no compromise will be made on the security and protection of important buildings in the red zone which are symbol of the state.

He said Article 245 is also being invoked to safeguard red zone under which Pakistan Army will perform duties in the second layer of security.
