Six killed, two injured as jeep plunges in Neelum Valley ravine

Eight members of the same family were travelling in the vehicle

ISLAMABAD: Six people, including two children, were killed and two others were injured when a jeep plunged into a deep ravine along Jagraan Road in Neelum Valley on Wednesday.

As per local sources, reportedly, there were eight members of the same family travelling in the vehicle which skidded off the road and fell into the deep ravine. The dead were Sohail Ahmad, Sher Dil, Mehar Gul and Gul Ahsan Bibi. The injured were identified as Aziz Bibi and Haji Siraj Din.

The rescue efforts could not be started promptly due to the mobile phone service’s unavailability at the accident site. The locals on their own carried out the relief and rescue work.

However, as soon as they were informed, the rescue teams rushed to the spot and started the rescue operation.
