Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Tehreek-e-Insaf Tuesday filed Toshakhana reference under Article 63(2) against the former prime minister and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Yousuf Raza Gilani.

PTI senator Azam Khan Swati flanked by other PTI lawmakers submitted the Toshakhana reference at the Senate secretariat.

The reference stated that Gilani took four vehicles from Toshakhana in 2008, out of which three vehicles were handed over to PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari which was a violation of the Toshakhana rules, adding that the PPP leader had misused his powers.

Swati said that Gillani could not remain a member of the Senate under Article 63 as he had violated his oath and urged the Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani to forward the reference to the ECP as soon as possible.

Sanjrani received the reference and said that he would examine the reference according to the law.
