The police in Karachi have registered a case following the gun attack on a dental clinic operated by dual national Chinese-Pakistanis.

The FIR says that banned Baloch and Sindhi outfits had joined hands to target China-origin Pakistanis in the country.

A Chinese-Pakistani, Ronald Chou, was killed and two other dual nationals were gravely wounded when a gunman shot at them inside their dental clinic near Saddar’s Regal Chowk on Wednesday.

Citing eyewitnesses the FIR said that the attack was carried out between 4:10pm and 4:15pm Wednesday.

Doctor Richard, his wife Phen Tayang, and Cashier Ronald Chou were working at the clinic when a man posing as a customer arrived there and sat in the waiting area. He looked like a Sindhi or Baloch and said he wanted to get his teeth cleaned, the FIR said.

Five minutes later the man stood up, drew his firearms, and shot at the doctor, his wife, and the cashier. The three were hit in the head and fell to the ground, according to the FIR.

The attacker ran outside where his accomplice was waiting with a motorcycle. They fled riding the motorbike.

The FIR said that both attackers could easily be identified by the eyewitnesses whose identities were being held to ensure their protection.

Ronald Chou, 31, died on the sport while Dr Richard, 75, and his wife, 72 were moved to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center.

Richard and his wife were unable to speak and they were moved to Aga Khan University Hospital for better medical treatment, said the FIR.

In the FIR, the police said that they had learned from the intelligence sources and social media that a joint sub-group of banned Sindhi and Baloch outfits named Sindhudesh Peoples Army (SPA) had claimed responsibility for the attack.

Police officers told reporters that SPA was a newly-found outfit.

The FIR said that the new outfit was targeting China-origin Pakistanis to hurt relations between Pakistan and China and to undermine development projects in Pakistan.

Police registered that case against SPA under various sections of the anti-terror law and the Pakitan Penal Code.
