The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has refused to send police personnel to Islamabad on the request of the center.

The federal government has requested police personnel from provinces to stop a planned PTI march on Islamabad. Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah warned earlier this week that the center will take action against provinces that refused to provide security personnel.

However, KP Labour and Culture Minister Shaukat Yousafzai said on Saturday that the provincial government would provide ‘not a single’ policeman to Rana Sanaullah.

He said that KP province bordered Afghanistan and required more security personnel to ensure peace in the province.

“We have KP security forces for [the protection of] our own people. Rana Sanaullah wants to repeat the Model Town incident,” the minister said referring to 2014 police action against protesters in Lahore.

Yousafzai also said that the federal government controlled only 27 kilometers territory of the country. “Rana Sanaullah is threatening political activists by becoming the Maula Jutt,” he said.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa inspector general of police, meanwhile, said that the decision to send police contingents to Islamabad lies with the provincial government.

The IGP said that he has written a letter to the chief secretary.
