Dengue outbreak getting worse in Karachi as 403 cases reported in 24 hours

KARACHI: Dengue virus patients continue to increase in Karachi at an alarming rate as 403 new cases have been reported during last 24 hours.

According to the Sindh Health Department, 403 dengue cases were reported in Karachi during the last 24 hours, with 116 cases reported from district east, 72 from district central and 107 from Korangi district.

Apart from these, 61 cases of dengue have been reported in district south, 12 in district west, 26 in Malir and 9 in Kemari district.

The Health Department said that 9 people have lost their lives due to dengue in Karachi, while the highest number of deaths were reported in district east.

According to the health department, 2,152 cases have been reported in the province since September 1, while 4,352 cases have been reported across Sindh this year.
