Pakistani actor Sajal Aly, who is making her Hollywood debut with the movie ‘What’s love got to do with it’, has said sharing screen space with legends of cinema was a ‘dream come true’ for her.

“It was like a dream come true to work with such big legends, Emma Thompson, Shabana Azmi and Shekhar Kapur,” she said at the premiere of the movie at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The Studio Canal UK dropped the trailer of the cross-cultural romcom movie on September 7. It is directed by Shekhar Kapur, who also made movies like Mr India, Elizabeth and more, and written by Jemima Goldsmith, the former wife of cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan.

It features Lily James, Shazad Latif, Shabana Azmi and Emma Thompson. The film also stars Asim Chaudhry, Jeff Mirza, Mim Shaikh and more. It would be released on January 27, 2023.

For Sajal, who plays the role of a Pakistani bride in the movie, was surreal to work with bigwigs of the cinema. To whom she has always looked upon.

The Alif actor was happy to meet people from different cultures at the premiere.

“For me, I have this little part in the film which I am not gonna reveal right now with Emma and I had to kind dance with her and I ask the director [Kapur] how crazy you want me to go and he is like as wild as you can and it was with Emma and we are just doing the desy number,” she said while sharing her experience.

Earlier, Sajal had got the opportunity to work with the late Sri Devi, the megastar, in Mom in 2017.
