A man and his wife were killed by unknown suspects in the limits of Sangjani police station in Islamabad’s Dhok Kashmiran area for contracting a marriage of their choice.

According to the police the suspects escaped the scene after shooting Nisar and his wife late at night, while the bodies have been handed over to the heirs after a post-mortem.

The police said that the deceased couple belonged to Kohistan and it was suspected that both were killed in the name of honor, which is being investigated.

Police said that a case has been registered against the unknown suspect.

Earlier in July, a woman was killed by her brother and uncle in the limits of Saddar police of Khanpur tehsil for contracting a marriage of her choice.
