Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairperson Imran Khan said on Tuesday that the coalition government was trying to turn the institutions against his party.

Imran while addressing a rally in Peshawar claimed that the coalition government was trying to create misunderstandings between the Pakistan Army and the country’s largest party adding that an organised propaganda campaign was being run against him.

He said that it was not his intention to use harsh words against additional sessions judge Zeba Chaudhry, adding that he always respected the judiciary because it believed in the rule of law.

“If it seemed like I had used a harsh statement it was because I had seen the custodial torture of Shahbaz Gill,” the PTI chief said.

“This gang of robbers has realised that they can’t defeat us. So, they are now trying to disqualify me,” the PTI chief said adding that the coalition government had declared him a terrorist in the court.

The PTI chief said that his political rivals would never win the match no matter what kind of tactics they ally.

He said that PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif used to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi secretly because of the fear of the army.

“We are the people who would strengthen this country’s institutions. And even if we do criticise our army, it is for their betterment. What we do is constructive criticism,” Khan said

Imran Khan warned the political rival for pushing him against the wall, saying that “the more you try to push PTI against the wall, the more I will fight you.”

The PTI chairperson said that the nation had realised that they [PDM] were trying to pit his party against the institutions
