PIA shuts down France office
PARIS: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has shut down its office in France with fourt flights of the international carrier on that route also cancelled in the last few weeks.
PIA was the only carrier that flew directly to Pakistan from Europe and Paris.
In July 2020, the European Union Air Safety Agency (EASA) suspended PIA’s air operations permit for European countries.
PIA had started operating two chartered flights from Paris in a month in an attempt to increase its operations in Europe. But since July, four chartered flights were cancelled after which ticket agents refused to book tickets for those flights.
The closure of the flights has created consternation within the Pakistani diaspora in Paris and Europe who no longer have any direct flights to Pakistan.
