Balochistan government on Thursday banned pillion riding and imposed Section 144 in Districts Sibbi, Khuzdar and Mastung in an effort to avoid any untoward incident on August 14.

There will be a complete ban on carrying and displaying arms and covering faces, said a notification issued in this regard.

“The government of Balochistan has reasons to believe that apparently, the undesirable activities of anti-social elements, miscreants, banned organizations may cause damage to human life and public/private properties on the eve of 14th August 2022,” said the notification.

The ban is imposed for one week, the notification said, adding that it would not be applicable to the uniformed personnel of law enforcement agencies.
