Sindh to send police party to escort Dua Zahra to Karachi
The Sindh Home Department has written a letter to its counterpart in Punjab about shifting teenager Dua Zahra to Karachi for the court-ordered medical examination to determine her age.
Dua Zahra was reported missing from her home in Karachi in April, and was later recovered from Bhawalnagar, where she had gotten married to another teenager whom she met on PUBG. According to an earlier medical test, she is between 16 to 17 years old.
In its letter, Sindh has sought permission to involve the police in Dua Zahra’s transfer. According to the orders issued by a local court, Dua Zahra has to be presented before the medical board to ascertain her age.
A police party led by DSP Shaukat Shahani will arrive in Lahore. A female police constable will accompany the police party, it adds.
