I did not tear Marilyn Monroe’s dress: Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian has spoken and responded to the accusations of wearing and tearing legendary Marilyn Monroe’s dress. The reality star claimed that the dress was not damaged.
“I respect her [Marilyn] a lot and understand how much this dress means to American history,” she said in an interview with the American channel ‘Today’.
“Because this year’s theme [of the MET Gala] was American,” she continued, referring to the American Gilded Age being the theme for 2022, “I thought what’s more American than Marilyn Monroe singing Happy Birthday to the President of the United States?”
Kim said that “the most surprising thing” was discovering how many of her younger followers did not know who the singer was.
“I showed up on the red carpet in a robe and slippers and I put the dress on when I was at the bottom of the carpet, and then I went upstairs. I’d probably have it on for three or four minutes,’’ she said.
She answered with a resounding “no” as soon as the presenters asked that she might have something to do with any tears.
“Ripley’s and I worked hand-in-hand, to the point where gloves were worn while they helped me put it on”, she said.
Kim was in the news since she wore the late actress’s dress. She was accused of significantly damaging the dress. The pictures of the dress went viral last week.
