Meera ji asks hard questions, claims media lies about her age
Actress Meera claims that films that are not worth watching get more attention while her films are deliberately ignored in a press conference at the Karachi Press Club.
Meera got emotional while addressing the press conference, and accused the media of not giving her films a chance.
“Why do they [the film industry] want the producers of ‘Devdas’ (her latest film) to die? Why was the movie not given cinema time? The film was directed by Iqbal Kashmiri, why were they treated unjustly?”
This press conference was not held for attention or to grab headlines, she said, adding that she was just asking for what was her right. “We do not want to be a part of the news or any controversies.”
The Baaji actress’s voice started breaking up when she asked why her film Sohni Mahiwal was not given screen time at cinemas.
The actress demanded that the government provide funds so that she could establish a film academy and pass on her talent to the newer generation.
Her younger brother Syed Hussain Abbass is also hoping to build a career in the film industry.
The Lollywood diva said that everyone has always spread false information regarding her age.
She announced that she will soon appear in a unique character and that she has been learning Balochi for it.
