  • The K-Electric has sought Rs11.34 per unit increase in the electricity tariff under the fuel cost adjustment. The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority would have a public hearing on the petition submitted by the KE on July 4.

  • Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has spoken to interim Afghan PM Mullah Hassan Akhund and offered condolences over the loss of lives in the earthquake, which took away more than 1,000 lives. He added that the injured people would be given medical treatment in Pakistan.

  • The deadly coronavirus was resurging in Pakistan, as the Covid positivity ratio jumped over two per cent in the country. But, so far no deaths were reported due to the virus.

  • The monsoon spell in the country would start on July 2, the Met Office said. Snowfall was reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan. More than 500 cattle were killed after being stranded at the tourist spot Noori Top.
