First spell of pre-monsoon rain in Karachi
At least five people, including three children, died in different rain related incidents in Karachi as the first spell of pre-monsoon rain hit the city on Wednesday.
Covid-19 cases
Pakistan reported 268 cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours with 2.14% positivity rate, according to the National Institute of Health data. One person died of the virus.
Three more SAPM appointed
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appointed three special aides, Owais Norrani, Jehanzeb Khan and Zafaruddin Mahmood, whose positions would be equivalent to state ministers.
Babar Ghauri to return to Pakistan
The Sindh High Court has granted protective bail to former federal minister and MQM-P leader Babar Khan Ghauri in two cases till July 5. He is expected to return to the country.
By-elections in Punjab
The Pakistan Peoples Party has decided to support the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz in the by-elections on 20 vacant seats in Punjab that will be held on July 17, said PML-N leader Atta Tarar.
Pakistan vs Sri Lanka
Cricketers Sarfraz Ahmed, Yasir Shah and Salman Ali Agha retuned to the national team as 18-member squad announced for two test match series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in July.
