Army pays tribute to driver for bravery
The Pakistan Army has paid tribute to Faisal Baloch, a driver from Quetta, in recognition of his humanitarian service to save human lives.
Faisal risked his life and drove an oil tanker that had caught fire three kilometres away from a populated area in Quetta on June 7.
Faisal’s video went viral on social media.
Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) invited Faisal to the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi and awarded him a cash price on the special instructions by Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa in recognition of his bravery.
Earlier, Quetta Deputy Commissioner Shaihek Baloch also awarded Faisal a certificate to protect lives of people. Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo also announced Rs0.5 million prize for his courageous act.
