Two Pakistani visually impaired archers will participate in two upcoming back-to-back international championships that will be held in the Czech Republic.

The Para-Archery World Ranking Event and European Cup will be held in Nove Mesto from July 1 to 10.

Tanveer Ahmed and Waleed Aziz will be part of the Blind Archery Team, announced Para Archery Committee head Shah Manzar Fareed. The committee works under the Pakistan Archery Federation.

Currently, Ahmed is number two in the world’s blind archery rankings after taking a silver medal home in the championship played in February 2022.

Coach Muhammad Ijaz and team manager Syed Junaid Raza Shah will be accompanying the archers.

The team will leave for the event on July 1 from Islamabad International Airport.

Haider Ali was the first Pakistani to win a gold medal in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games in the discus throw event.

He beat his own personal record with a throw measuring 55.26m. He beat second place thrower Mykola Zhabnyak from Ukraine by three meters.
