Atleast four killed in Shangla wild fire

Victims included three women

Shangla: Four people of the same family, including three women, were burnt to death in a wild fire in the hilly area of Kaparai in Shangla district’s Chakesar tehsil. Rescue and relief operations are ongoing.

Rescue 1122 firefighters and ambulances arrived on the scene immediately after the fire started.

The Shangla rescue team reached the site on foot, as the route is on a height and difficult to access.

Local people are also volunteering to help douse the fire.

The fire broke out in the remote mountains of Chakesar in Shangla District.

What started as a small bush fire, soon engulfed trees, homes and affected population in the surrounding area.

The fire has been largely contained, and the operation is still ongoing, said the Shangla Rescue 1122 spokesman.
