PM Shehbaz blames PTI for ‘incomplete’ Gwadar projects
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has blamed the previous government of PTI for “not” completing the development projects for the people of Gwadar, an observation which he came to know after visiting the port city on Friday.
“Despite wasting billions of rupees & precious time, it could not complete any project for resolution of water & electricity issues for the locals who gave great sacrifices for Gwadar port,” he said in a series of tweets.
During the visit to the port city, the premier vowed to resolve the issues of clean drinking water, electricity, and infrastructure. The premier had stressed the need for working on war-footing for the development of Gwadar.
“The same holds true for Gwadar seaport & construction of Gwadar airport. No dredging was carried out at seaport & thus no large cargo ship can be anchored,” he said and ordered quick completion of the Gwadar university, airport, and installation of a desalination plant for clean drinking water.
Former government allies in Balochistan had parted ways with it because of the non-resolution of issues and lamented its lack of attention over the resource-rich province.
Shehbaz said: “I am convinced more than ever before that development of Pakistan is linked with peace, stability & progress of Balochistan. The coalition govt aims to assist Balochistan by working with the provincial govt & local elders to chart the way forward.”
