How to prevent heart disease and fatigue
Coronary heart diseases are responsible for at least 16.49% of deaths in Pakistan, according to World Life Expectancy. People are often exerting themselves and know it but do not slow down, mostly due to necessity, said nutrition Dr Sehr Chawla on Sidra Iqbal’s show, Aaj Pakistan.
“When you are young, your youth drives you, when you are older, your discipline drives you,” said Chawla.
It is important that you exercise and sleep properly while also ensuring that your vitamin and mineral levels are up to speed, otherwise one can feel fatigued.
“Out of the eight kinds of vitamin B in your body, at least five are responsible for giving you an energy boost,” Chawla added.
Older people are more prone to heart attacks due to comorbid conditions such as diabetes, and blood pressure but in young people, heart attacks can be fatal. One of the biggest reasons for this is that young people have asymptomatic heart attacks usually.
“The body does give indicators that something may be amiss but it is usually easy to ignore the signs until they turn into heart attacks. Add to the fact that young people are not taking any medication to manage comorbid conditions, which help stave off heart attacks, makes them particularly vulnerable. “
Smokers and especially those in high-stress situations are more likely to suffer from heart attacks.
“Surprisingly people with great fitness routines can also get heart attacks, especially if they do not take care of their diets, since trans fats, which clogs arteries cannot be burned,” Chawal said.
Staying away at night is also harmful to the body since the adrenal glands found above the kidneys start producing extra cortisol, an excess of which can cause high blood pressure along with a host of other symptoms.
