Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) chief Ameer Muqam has accused PTI chief Imran Khan of using the resources of the provincial government for his long march to Islamabad.

Muqam, who is also an adviser to the prime minister on political and public affairs, said this while speaking to the media in Swat Tuesday.

“The meetings (for the PTI long march) were held in the offices of the deputy commissioner of KP. Officials were tasked with bringing people to the long march in Islamabad for which provincial government vehicles were used.”

The PML-N leader accused Khan of trying to blackmail the incumbent government into giving a date for early elections through his long march. “Khan though he had the support of millions. But when he saw that a few hundred people had turned up for his long march, he decided to end the protest.”

He went on to accuse the PTI chief of being a master of u-turns. “Imran Khan says one thing in the morning and a different thing in the evening.”

He lambasted Khan for saying that he would use the KP force to attack the government in Islamabad. “The KP police are not drawing their salaries from Bani Gala.”

Later in the day, KP Chief Minister Mehmood Khan, while speaking to supporters, said that he would use the KP police for the next iteration of the long march. “If the ill-treatment of this imported and incompetent government continues, I will employ the KPK force this time. Earlier the long-march protest was a peaceful one.”
