The former West Indies skipper Daren Sammy was conferred with the Sitara-i-Pakistan award for his excellent contributions to the revival of cricket in Pakistan.

The two-time World Cup-winning captain for West Indies, who is also part of the Peshawar Zalmi franchise of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), received the award on Monday and shared photographs of the ceremony on his official Twitter account.

“There it is me collecting the Sitara-I-Pakistan award. Such a proud moment,” he tweeted.

Sammy has represented West Indies in all three formats of the game, scoring 1,323 runs and taking 84 wickets in 30 Tests, hitting a century and five half-centuries.
