Coming generations will never forgive us for doing nothing against foreign conspiracy: Imran
PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that Pakistan was passing through a crucial time, adding that the judiciary and the lawyer’s community have an important role to play in saving the country.
“I, therefore, want the lawyer’s community to support me,” Khan said while addressing the Insaf Lawyers Convention in Peshawar on Monday.
Imran Khan said that his party was fighting for real independence and urged the legal fraternity to play their role in his fight against the corrupt leaders.
He said that when his government was toppled, people came out to protest in huge numbers against the regime change. “All previous governments except the PTI one were ousted due to corruption,” he said,
He said that the huge turnouts at his many rallies was proof that people believed him on the foreign conspiracy issue. “It was for the first time in the history of Pakistan that a huge number of people came out to protest against the ouster through a foreign conspiracy.”
The ex-prime minister said that the ‘imported government’ had been imposed on the country through a ‘foreign conspiracy’, adding that the future generation would never “forgive us if we did nothing against the foreign conspiracy”.
He said that if the incumbent government is allowed to stay in power, then rule of law in the country would be destroyed.
Imran Khan said that India was independent in its foreign policy, adding that his party wanted good diplomatic relations with every country but would not accept to become ‘slaves’.
The PTI chairperson said that the people of the subcontinent had been slaves for 200 years, adding that the democratic system in the United Kingdom was protected by the courts.
Speaking about his government’s performance during his tenure, the PTI chairperson said that record-high crops were produced and economic growth stood at 6 percent.
He said that the there were record remittances received during the PTI-led government. The the country performed well despite the coronavirus pandemic and the whole world appreciated his government’s performance to deal with it.
