Pakistani mountaineer Ali Raza Sadpara dies, week after fall

Ali Raza Sadpara, one of Pakistan’s most famous mountaineers, passed away on Friday morning.
A few days ago, Ali Raza fell from a mountain during a training exercise in Gilgit and seriously injured his backbone.
Ali Raza Sadpara was 66 years old and was one of the leading climbers in Pakistan. He was planning to summit K2.
His funeral will be at 10am Friday, said the family.
He was hospitalised at Regional Hospital Skardu for the past one week. He was 66 years old. He had been climbing since 1986 and had summited a record number of times. He had climbed four peaks above 8000 meters 16 times.
