Case against Shireen Mazari registered during ex-CM Buzdar’s govt: Maryam Nawaz
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz said that she was not happy hearing the news of PTI’s Shireen Mazari’s arrest, adding that the case against her was registered during former CM Usman Buzdar-led Punjab government.
Addressing the social media team on Saturday, Maryam said that the anti-corruption department had registered a case of illegal encroachment of government land against Mazari.
The PML-N leader said that she had also been victimized and sent to jail during the previous government, adding Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appeared before the court in a money laundering case despite holding the office of PM.
Maryam said that the PTI was also playing ‘aurat card’ over the arrest of Mazari.
Criticizing PTI leadership, she said that the party was hurling abuses at the Election Commission of Pakistan but later the party leaders praised the institution for its ruling in favour of the PTI.
“The PTI leaders used to call those institutions Mir Jaffar and Mir Sadiq that issue verdicts that go against the party members,” she said, adding however, the party praised the institutions when the verdicts “go in its favor.”
She also lamented Imran Khan over his comments against her which the latter made during a public gathering in Multan on Friday.
“No one can expect respect from Imran Khan,” she said.
Maryam said she had enough political material against Imran Khan that she would not attack him personally, adding the PTI-led government in its tenure was only involved in political victimization and its performance was poor.
