SHANGLA. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to address a rally in Shangla, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday (today) as part of the party’s seven-city public campaign, which started with Maryam Nawaz’s address in Attock the other day.

Adviser to the PM on Political and Public Affairs Amir Muqam will accompany PM Shehbaz in the public gathering. The rally is being held in Bisham, which is the hometown of PTI’s MPA Shaukat Yousafzai.

Muqam’s brother Dr Ibadullah Khan was elected as MNA from Tehsil Puran of Shangla district.

The total area of Shangla district is 1,586 square kilometres, according to the KP government website,. Shangla comprises two subdivisions, Alpuri and Puran Tehsil. There are four sub tehsils ie Besham, Chakesar, Martung and Makhuzai. “Shangla has the lowest human development Index in the province and second-lowest in the country.”

Moreover, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has refuted rumours that PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif ordered PM Shehbaz to address the Shangla rally after Maryam Nawaz apparently spoke against state institutions in Attock public gathering.

“The Shangla rally was already scheduled by Amir Muqam and PM Shehbaz was about to address it. Maryam Nawaz will address the rally in Swabi on May 11,” he said.
