Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan has claimed that the United States wanted an obedient puppet for which an elected prime minister was removed in Pakistan through a conspiracy.

Taking to Twitter, the former prime minister posted a clip from the Fox News show, Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy, where Pakistan’s foreign policy with the US was being discussed and defense analyst was asked to share her message for Pakistan.

Shortly after the video circulated online, Khan, in a series of tweets, claimed that he was vindicated for his stance. He said the clip should “remove all doubts” regarding why he and his government were ousted.

The footage shows US defence analyst Rebecca Grant during an interview saying that her country had played a role in ousting PTI Chairman Imran Khan through the vote of the no-confidence motion.

Grant said, “Pakistan will have to support Ukraine, stop making deals with Russia, cut ties with China and end anti-US policies.”

“If anyone had any doubts about US regime change conspiracy this video should remove all doubts as to why a democratically elected PM & his govt were removed. Clearly the US wants an obedient puppet as PM who will not allow Pak choice of neutrality in a European war,” Imran Khan wrote on Twitter.

In another Tweet, the PTI chairman questioned US President Joe Biden’s government if it believed it had increased or decreased “anti-American” sentiment in Pakistan by taking part in what he said was a “regime-change conspiracy”.

Terming the video clip a reaffirmation of “US regime-change conspiracy”, Imran said it was the chief justice of Pakistan’s duty to form a commission to hold public hearings to determine who was involved in it.

Referring to Grant’s comments, Imran said the analyst had elaborated that the US “removed” Pakistan’s prime minister because he was trying to formulate an independent foreign policy and remaining neutral in the war between Russia and Ukraine.
