A man allegedly strangled his five-year-old daughter to death on the outskirts of Punjab's Chiniot district, Aaj News reported on Thursday.

According to details, Shahid kidnapped his minor daughter and then strangulated her to death.

The police had earlier registered a case of kidnapping the minor girl.

During the investigation, Shahid accepted committing the murder.

Police say the father kidnapped the minor in order to implicate his wife with whom he had a fractious relationship.

Earlier this month in another such incident, a man allegedly strangled his two-year-old daughter to death at his house within the jurisdiction of Naseerabad police station in Rawalpindi.

According to the police, the preliminary investigations did not reveal why the man killed his own daughter.
