Pakistan secures second highest quota for Hajj pilgrims
The Saudi government has announced the second highest quota for Pakistani pilgrims for Hajj 2022, with 81,132 people from the country, reported Saudi Gazette.
The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah approved the quotas for pilgrims from all countries across the world for Hajj 2022.
Indonesia received the highest quota among all the countries, with 100,051 Indonesian Muslims, according to the report.
After Pakistan, the quotas are 79,237 pilgrims from India and 57,585 pilgrims from Bangladesh, securing the third and fourth highest slots.
Two vaccination doses are mandatory and people over 65 years cannot do Hajj, said Saudi Ministry of Hajj.
In April, Saudi Arabia announced that one million people would perform Hajj this year, greatly expanding the key event to participants from outside the kingdom after two years of tight Covid restrictions.
