Usman Mukhtar’s production studio ET to ‘uplift’ new artists
Actor Usman Mukhtar has started a production house called ‘Eastern Terrestrial’ with his brother Meiraj Haq, to help talented budding artists actualise their potential.
The vision of the studio is to “provide a platform and uplift those artists who might not get a chance elsewhere and are looking for opportunities to showcase their artistic capabilities,” said the Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay actor in an Instagram post on Friday.
“We are passionate about delivering quality content while emphasizing fair and ethical production practices. We hope you will all enjoy and appreciate the unique vision of ET Studios!” added Mukhtar.
ET has completed its first project in collaboration with the production house Down Town Films. In a subsequent post, the actor shared the first teaser poster for the project called ‘Gulabo Rani.’
While the Sabaat star has made a mark on screen with his exceptional acting skills, working behind the camera won’t be a first for him either.
In 2021, Mukhtar directed his first short film, Bench, starring Rubya Chaudhry and Iman Shahid.
The film tells the story of a young couple who are at crossroads in their relationship where leaving each other is just as difficult as staying together. They meet again at their favourite spot, the bench, to resolve their conflict, once and for all.
On the day of the film’s release, Mukhtar had said that he aspires to make more of these films as it has been “one of the greatest pleasures” of his life.
