If there’s one thing Hollywood loves, it’s the creation of war films. It’s only been a week since Russia launched military operations in Ukraine and the internet is already abuzz talking about a potential movie on the invasion.

They’ve even cast the “perfect” Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, and it's none other than Jeremy Renner, also known as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Ukrainian President has garnered global praise for fighting to defend his country against the Russian invasion, which is why it comes as no surprise that people are already speculating a biopic.

The uncanny resemblance between Zelensky and Renner became apparent when social media users posted pictures of both men side by side.

The fan-casting however quickly received backlash from many who reminded them that Ukraine was in the middle of a ‘real war.”

“Ukrainians are losing their lives and having their homes/businesses destroyed and we really have people tweeting "Jeremy Renner should play Zelensky in the movie about this!!” said one user.

“This isn’t entertainment. People are dying,” said another user.
