Four men have been jailed for raping a vulnerable teenage girl between the years 2009 to 2010 in West Yorkshire reported the BBC on Friday.

The men are reported to have given the then 14-year-old drugs and alcohol and raped her "systematically and repeatedly" the BBC added. A fifth man has been jailed for three of the rapes and will be sentenced at a later date.

The woman was 20 years old when she came forward with the complaint.

The prosecution said the teenager was driven to parks and other remote areas where she was raped.

She issued a statement through the police saying: "The driving force for me to keep going through all of this was so that it prevents it from happening to other people, and also it might help other people come forward."

While passing the judgment, Judge Andrew Hatton was quoted in BBC as saying: "The gross abuse she suffered at the hands of you is a significant factor in her current mental health."

Det Ch Insp Alan Weekes, of West Yorkshire Police said: "I hope seeing all of these men sent to prison today for these horrendous offences she was subjected to will allow her to start to look forward to the future," he said.

The men were found guilty in October.

According to the BBC the men were sentenced as follows: Omar Safdar, 30, was jailed for 12 years after being convicted of three counts of rape.

Imran Sabir, 42, was sentenced 12 years after being convicted of two counts of rape. Hassan Basharat, 32, was jailed for 12 years after being convicted of three counts of rape. Barber Hussain, 36, was jailed for 13 years after being convicted of seven counts of rape. Amjad Hussain will be sentenced later.
