Bilawal challenges PM Imran to step down and announce elections
Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday asked Prime Minister Imran Khan to step down and announce elections if he was confident that people will vote for him again but said the "coward" prime minister will not do that.
“If you (PM Imran Khan) have courage, dissolve the assembly before the PPP’s long march. Otherwise, the people will overthrow your government,” Bilawal said while addressing a public gathering in Multan.
Bilawal further said that if Imran Khan was so confident that the people were going to vote for him again, then he should announce early elections, “but he knows that the people are fed up with him”.
Speaking about the long march, Bilawal said the party’s Central Executive Committee has decided that it would start its long march on February 27 from Karachi against the “incompetent” rulers.
He said that PPP exposed the PTI government on the first day of its tenure and was fighting it since then. “Other parties were not participating in the by-elections. However, the PPP stood its ground and fought against the PTI by not leaving the field empty,” he added.
The PPP chairman also expressed satisfaction that other opposition parties were also convinced that the no-trust motion was the best way to send the government packing.
He further said that his party would continue to protest against the "selected" rulers until the people of Pakistan are freed from such incompetent people.
