TLP chief Saad Rizvi released
Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Hafiz Saad Hussain Rizvi has been released from Kot Lakhpat jail in Lahore.
TLP spokesperson Ibne Ismail also confirmed the development, as reported by Dawn.com, telling them that Rizvi would go to Rehmatul Lil Alameen Mosque after his release.
Rizvi, who spent almost 8 months in prison after his arrest on April 12, was released after the government reached a deal with the TLP earlier this month.
Last week, the Punjab government had removed Rizvi's name from the Fourth Schedule — a list of proscribed individuals who are suspected of terrorism or sectarianism under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA), 1997.
Rizvi's name was added to the Fourth Schedule on April 16, after the TLP held violent protests across the country.
It must be mentioned here that the government had removed the TLP from the First Schedule of the Act as a proscribed organisation on Nov 7.
