Rawalpindi police have arrested a school instructor in connection with the alleged rape of a seven-year-old student.
The suspect, N*, was taken into jail on Wednesday night, reported Dawn quoting police spokesperson Sajjadul Hasan.
Police arrested the suspect after the victim's mother submitted a complaint at the Saddar Wah Cantt police station under section 376 (punishment for rape) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
The mother claimed that her daughter, A*, was the victim of a crime when she was in school, aged six or seven, according to a First Information Report (FIR) filed on November 16..
"On arriving home, the girl grieved and told me that a male teacher whose name she does not know sexually attacked her in her school," she was cited in the FIR as saying as per Dawn.
The complainant stated that she had taken her daughter to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for a medical evaluation, but that the hospital staff requested that she return with the police. She went to the police station after returning home and calling her father-in-law, she added.
