Twitter shows serious reservations about PCB's selection of T20 squad
When it comes to Pakistan cricket, Twitter users bring their A game in commentary. And Monday was no different after Pakistan Cricket Board announced its selection of players for the T20 World Cup next month.
The reservations centred on the exclusion of Sarfaraz Ahmed, Wahab Riaz, Shoaib Malik and Sharjeel Khan.
As Dawn reported, because Mohammad Amir retired, he was not in the running.
Some had expressed concern before the announcement was made by chief selector Mohammad Waseem.
While others took to Twitter shortly after the announcement to criticize the selection.
Wasim said the board tried to cover all bases in their selection of this squad.
He was quoted in Dawn as saying: "This includes trusting the abilities, skills and experience of the players to perform in a high pressure global tournament in conditions that are familiar to us, as well as looking at the teams we will play in Group-2 matches."
But Twitter folks are not convinced.
Others are lamenting the absence of Shahid Afridi.
The game will take place between September 25 to October 14 in Lahore and Rawalpindi while Pakistan will play India in Dubai on October 24, reported Dawn.
