UK/ Covid: Over 20 million people have been fully vaccinated
The United Kingdom has been one of the few countries that have been carrying out their coronavirus vaccination drive most effectively.
- To date, more than 50% of the population of the UK has received at least the first dose of the vaccine while 30% has been fully vaccinated.
According to the latest Covid vaccination statistics provided by the website, 'Our World In Data,' more than 20 million people in the UK have been fully vaccinated. It means that almost one-third of the population has received their second doses and completed the course.
In the UK, more than 35 million people have been given at least a single dose of the Covid vaccine while 20 million have been fully immunized against the novel virus. This puts the country third on the list of countries that have the given most number of jabs. Only the United States and India have given more jabs than the UK.
The successful vaccination campaign of the UK has proven to be a game-changer in the country's battle against the novel coronavirus infection as the number of new cases and deaths are declining gradually.
It proves that vaccines work and getting to herd immunity by vaccinating the masses (at least 60-70% of a country's population) is the only way we can eradicate the deadly virus. Thus, every country should provide vaccines to their citizens free of cost and as early as possible. It must be noted that the type/brand of vaccines doesn't matter, get yourself vaccinated with whatever type is available in your region.
