Federal Cabinet approves inclusion of Shehbaz Sharif in ECL
The federal cabinet, through a circulation summary, approved the inclusion of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president and opposition leader in National Assembly (NA) Shahbaz Sharif's name in the Exit Control List (ECL).
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, along with Prime Minister's Advisor on Interior and Accountability Shahzad Akbar, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said that the name of Shehbaz Sharif has been put on Exit Control List (ECL).
The minister said that a summary in this regard has also been forwarded to cabinet.
Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said that yesterday we have placed the case of Shahbaz Sharif in ECL, because under Article 25, except for Shahbaz Sharif, all the other 14 accused have been named in ECL and 5 members of Sharif family are absconders.
Regarding the situation in Corona, Sheikh Rashid said that it was the right decision of our government to carry out smart lockdown. Today, crematoriums and cemeteries in India have become one, 400,000 cases are being reported in one day. The Pakistan Army has done a lot in Corona.
Talking about the attacks of Israeli forces on Palestinians, Sheikh Rashid urged the international community to mediate and resolve the issue. Pakistani people condemn the atrocities of Israel and pledged support to the oppressed Palestinians, he asserted.
He further said that 1100 prisoners are being repatriated from Saudi Arabia and these prisoners will be kept in Pakistani jails.
