Peshawar High Court orders ban on TikTok
The Peshawar High Court (PHC) ordered on Thursday the authorities concerned to impose a ban on the popular short-video sharing app TikTok.
According to details, a hearing was conducted in PHC on a petition filed by an Advocate Nazish Muzaffar to ban TikTok, a mobile app used by teenagers to make and share videos, in Pakistan.
Speaking during proceedings, CJP Peshawar High Court Justice Qaiser Khan stated that the videos uploaded on TikTok are against our cultural and moral values.
Director General Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (DG PTA) told court that they have requested TikTok authorities to regulate inappropriate and obscene content.
“Till the time TikTok authorities do not cooperate with you to stop immoral content, we are imposing a ban on this app,” CJP PHC reploed.
