Flour bags seized along with supply truck selling flour at higher price
KARACHI: The district administration West on Tuesday conducted surprise inspection of markets and seized number of wheat flour bags on charge of selling flour at a rate higher than that is notified.
The inspection was conducted on the orders of Deputy Commissioner West Saleemullah Odho, to monitor and penalise flour mills/shops involved in misusing wheat quota and selling at overprice.
During the inspection by Assistant Commissioner Mominabad Sadaf Azam, the official team found flour mill's workers shifting the stock to a retailer shop at a higher price. All the wheat bags along with supply truck were taken into possession.
The Assistant Commissioner Mominabad said the violators would face prosecution under the hoarding act. The seized stock was sold at the government rate in presence of district administration west, which was appreciated by the locals.—PR
