Coronavirus casualties exceed 10,000 in Pakistan
- Pakistan became the 28th country to reach the grim milestone of 10,000 Covid-related deaths.
According to the statistics shared by the NCOC, in the last 24 hours, 2,155 new cases and 55 deaths were reported in Pakistan. Currently, the total number of Covid-19 cases stands at 477,240. Total casualties have reached 10,047. The positivity rate remained at 5.9% yesterday.
Twenty-seven countries have reported more Covid fatalities than Pakistan. Of all the countries that have reported coronavirus cases, the United States is the worst-hit. It leads the world both in terms of the number of cases and deaths reported. Other countries like India, Brazil, Russia, France, and the United Kingdom are also ravaged by the flu bug.
In the ongoing second wave of Coronavirus infection, Pakistan has seen a serious rise in the number of deaths. Nowadays, on average, 50 plus virus-related deaths are being reported in the country daily.
Among all the regions, Punjab has reported the most number of coronavirus deaths in the country. The latest province-wise stats are as follows:
