In the second wave of novel coronavirus, Pakistan saw its deadliest day yesterday. 111 casualties in a single day are the highest count in almost six months.

In Pakistan, the rate at which deaths are being reported in the last few weeks is quite concerning. The second wave is proving to be way deadlier than the first one. Some health experts believe that the reason behind this could be a new strain of coronavirus.

With 2,256 new COVID-19 cases reported in the last 24 hours, the total number of cases has exceeded 465,000 in the country. The positivity rate remained 6% in the last 24 hours.
