  • In the last 24 hours, 34,772 coronavirus tests were conducted out of which 1,792 returned positive.

In the second wave of Coronavirus infection, Pakistan has seen the number of Covid cases increase significantly. The total cases have crossed 458,000.

But the encouraging news is that only 1,792 cases were reported yesterday. The tally of newly confirmed cases was the lowest in 40 days. The last time country reported a lesser number of Covid cases was on 10th November.

This meant that the positivity rate remained only 5% yesterday. This rate had remained consistently above 7% in the past 4 to 6 weeks.

This is good news but we mustn't get carried away. The public must keep following SOPs put in place by the federal and provincial governments to curb the spread of the deadly disease.
