Over 8,000 Pakistanis have succumbed to COVID-19 so far
The novel coronavirus is still wreaking havoc on numerous countries. Some are still fighting the first wave of viral disease while most nations are now battling the second and third waves. To date, over 63 million people have contracted the virus globally. While 1.4 million have died due to Covid-related reasons.
In terms of total coronavirus infections reported, Pakistan is 28th worst-hit country in the world. The number of coronavirus cases has reached 398,024 in the country. 2,839 people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours. 341,423 people have recovered from the coronavirus infection in Pakistan.
- At least 40 Pakistanis died due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours taking the national death tally to 8,025.
Among the provinces, Punjab has reported the most number of coronavirus deaths in the country. Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are second and third respectively. Islamabad has reported way more deaths than Balochistan, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan. The province-wise total Covid fatalities are given as below:

Sindh: 2,924
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 1,368
Islamabad Capital Territory: 314
Balochistan: 166
Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 165
Gilgit Baltistan: 97
