Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif's mother Shamim Akhtar has passed away in London, on Sunday.

The development was confirmed by senior PML-N leader Ataullah Tarar, who announced the tragic news on Twitter.

Nawaz Sharif's son Hussain Nawaz also confirmed the news. According to Hussain Nawaz, his grandmother woke up for the prayer in morning and then her health deteriorated and was then rushed to hospital where she breathed her last.
