Spike in COVID-19 cases seen in Islamabad
Recently, Coronavirus cases are on the rise in the capital.
According to the district administration of Islamabad, 4,810 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours, out of which 154 cases came out positive. The positivity rate of the capital city was 3.2%.

On Wednesday, considering the surge in coronavirus cases, the district administration of Islamabad imposed Section 144 in the Federal Capital for two months, making wearing a face mask at public places mandatory to contain the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat, in a notification, said the Section-144 had been enforced to ensure compliance of COVID-19 SOPs among the general public. He said:
Given the rising positivity of COVID-19 cases it becomes essential that the general public must wear a face mask while visiting public places in Islamabad Capital Territory.
