QUETTA: The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) is holding its third anti-government jalsa in Quetts today despite a warning from the government that militants can target the public rally.

The National Counter Terrorism Authority (Nacta) warned that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan in connivance with HIAs have planned to carry out large-scale terrorist activities in Quetta, targeting political and religious leadership.

The public gathering is being held at the Ayub Stadium in Quetta. PDM leaders including JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz have already arrived at the venue.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Maryam Nawaz, however, declared that today’s event would not be postponed as it was Balochistan government’s responsibility to provide complete security to the public meeting.

PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif are both expected to address the public meeting via video link.

All preparations, including security measures and provision of sanitisers and face masks, for the third PDM rally have been completed. The PDM has started decorating the ground for the rally.
